Here is a link on the FlickerLA website that actually explains the methodology used behind the "Attack of the 50 foot reels" Super-8 film festival and provides a link to some of the participating filmmakers websites.

That's a tough question to answer. I'm more preoccupied with the place selling out.

Alex,
So have you been to this event before? Does it sell out? I may go, but am not sure.

I went last year. It was sold out!
It's really an inspirational event. There were some very clever films shown, films good enough to be shown on HBO or Showtime as part of a "in camera-edit series.
You should go this year and then make one next year assuming they have the contest again.

Buying advance tickets from the Egyptian for the Flicker Fest
Fax orders can be made up until two business days before the event. So I guess that means you would
have to order before the start of this Monday morning's business day.
I sure hate to fax all of that credit card info and have it sitting on fax machine over the weekened until it is picked up Monday Morning.
The box office is open 1-4, I think everday except for Monday. It might be worth purchasing the tickets Sunday long ticket lines Tuesday before the show. I guess on Monday you have to wait until thirty minutes before they open for the evening.
(Moderators note) Looks like they are not open at all on Mondays.

Do you know the cost?
Also, do they actually project Super-8 or is it transfered to video?

Alex,
Thanks for the info. I went down today, but the box office is closed on Mondays all day.
